What is Professional Life Coaching?Life coaching is a synergistic, forward focused partnership between a certified and accredited coach and their client to discover one’s full potential. It often entails skills development, goal setting and attainment, accountability, brainstorming, discovering strategies to take action, mindset shifts, and much more.
-
How does Coaching differ from Therapy?Therapy involves working with a licensed mental health provider to work through past or current emotional and/or psychological issues. It can include anger management, substance abuse, work on depression and anxiety, crisis management, relationship problems, learning deficits, PTSD, and much more to improve overall well being. Coaching involves the partnership of an emotionally stable individual with a certified professional life coach, to set and achieve professional and personal goals. The client is the expert of their life and the coach asks questions, empowers, supports, encourages and guides the client into action.
-
Can I see a Therapist and Life Coach simultaneously?Absolutely! Many people choose to work with a therapist for mental health issues or past healing, and they see a coach for life transitions, setting and achieving personal/professional goals, and growth in areas of life.
-
Who is Life Coaching for?Coaching is for those who are overall emotionally healthy, well adjusted, and functioning effectively in life, yet want to make changes to improve where they stand currently in life.
-
Who is Life Coaching not for?Coaching is not therapy, counseling, mental healthcare, treatment for substance abuse or any other addictive behavior. The coach is not operating as a licensed mental health provider, nor does coaching replace psychiatric care, treatment for mental illness, recovery from past or current abuse, medical advice, financial assistance, and legal counsel.
-
Why would someone already successful need a Life Coach?Although no one technically "needs" a life coach, many choose to work with a coach to advance in various areas of life and push themselves to grow at a faster/deeper pace than they may do on their own.
